Hoover Deck & Porch (HD&P) is a family-owned and operated deck and porch contractor that has been serving Vestavia Hills and the Greater Birmingham area since 1984. We specialize in building, repairing, and designing outdoor living spaces with a commitment to honest advice, quality craftsmanship, and long-term trust. Our team believes in doing things the right way and treating every project as if it were being built for our own families.

Our philosophy is simple: we provide the facts so homeowners can do what is best for their families. We avoid high-pressure sales tactics and never cut corners, because we know that shortcuts only hurt people in our local community. Led by deck expert Kevin Cato, we are a licensed Home Builder in the state of Alabama and a member of the North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA).

We build every project to endure for at least 20 years. Our quality standards include building to IRC code tables, using proper footing depth and width, and utilizing quality structural brackets and fasteners. We specialize in materials like composite decking and Fairway railings that stand up to Alabama’s humidity and sun.
